most generally, i come up with some darn good thinking when i am madder than a hornet. call it a talent (my psychiatrist calls it a concern-jk!); i have tremendous mental capacity when something goes wrong to get my panties in a bunch. humbleness, poignancy, & reverence, however… those things leave me speechless. and so it is, in my helpless reflections & moments of nothingness… that God speaks. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes, and He is the One to whom we are accountable. -Hebrews4
...we can trust He takes no pleasure in our destitution, but knows our needs better than we do. if the Son of God was able to multiply two loaves of bread and a few fish to feed tens of thousands of people, how we must rejoice as we think of His power to multiply the small gift of our prayers! Mother Teresa had such wisdom and insight that is so wonderfully profound... "If we pray, we will believe; If we believe, we will love" "Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness." "Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart." "People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway." "If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway." ~Mother Teresa Charles Wesley, perhaps the most prolific hymnist of all time,
realized the value of corporate singing as he wrote, "O for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer's praise." there is nothing to compare to that sound. nothing. how i long for the day to hear the heavely hosts singing praises to our Great God! |
