pray

most generally, i come up with some darn good thinking
when i am madder than a hornet. call it a talent (my
psychiatrist calls it a concern-jk!); i have tremendous mental capacity
when something goes wrong to get my panties in a bunch.
humbleness, poignancy, & reverence, however…
those things leave me speechless.
and so it is, in my helpless reflections & moments
of nothingness… that God speaks.

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword,
cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow.
It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes,
and He is the One to whom we are accountable. -Hebrews4

...we can trust He takes no pleasure in our destitution,
but knows our needs better than we do.
if the Son of God was able to multiply two loaves of bread
and a few fish to feed tens of thousands of people,
how we must rejoice as we think of His power to multiply
the small gift of our prayers!

Mother Teresa had such wisdom and insight that is so
wonderfully profound...
"If we pray, we will believe;
If we believe, we will love"
"Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things
on the condition that you believe much more in
His love than in your own weakness."
"Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen,
for God speaks in the silence of the heart."
"People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway."
"If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway."
~Mother Teresa

Charles Wesley, perhaps the most prolific hymnist of all time,
realized the value of corporate singing as he wrote, "O for a thousand
tongues to sing my great Redeemer's praise." there is nothing to
compare to that sound. nothing.
how i long for the day to hear the heavely hosts singing praises
to our Great God!

It's August:)

Nations fall when You speak
And You have spoken over me
I am tired of giving in so easily

The way You keep on loving me
Is changing everything I see

When the morning comes
And Your mercy is renewed
There's a fire in my bones
I'm not afraid to go alone
You're all I need

The sun on my face
I hear You whisper loud
You're still the God that opens seas

You're all I need

I am so grateful for the mercy of God...which I continue to experience.  i’m thankful God
doesn’t toss us to the side like people do often when their "friends" find themselves in
hard places. I’m grateful that He has taught & continues teaching me how to not be
so dependent on other resources of comfort & stability.  He truly is the ONLY source
for such riches as comfort & peace.  i most definatley stumble… and fall, but when i gain
the strength to stand back up… i’m always in a better place than i was before thanks to
the God who fashioned me.

i refuse to give up..

i’m thankful for the people who have been an ear for me.  i am grateful for those people who have understood & are now consciously aware of the world around them and attempting to educate themselves & change the way they live/think. know that "i thank god for you, deeply".  equally, i appreciate all those who have been completely unsupportive (in every way, shape or form).  you’ve only caused me seek God harder & thus received His affirmation & blessing. seeking God has been my rock; my foundation, confirmation, PEACE, guidance, strength. as you may assume or possibly already feel yourself, when you discover a harsh reality it can be very difficult to find means to cope - especially when you seem to be alone in it...and the ’reality’ is so abstract that it disrupts your "world".

again, many times i have simply had to lay it all down and in silence & solitude wait to hear God’s voice (He’s never once failed me).

i suggest seeking God for yourself, on ALL matters, period. All praises are in fact due to Him... who alone is my peace!

don’t harden your hearts

God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God.

For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said,

“In my anger I took an oath:
‘They will never enter my place of rest,’”

So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God.  So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted:

“Today when you hear his voice,
      don’t harden your hearts.”

~Hebrews 4

.....don't harden your hearts....
